My focus for 2002 is to continue the expansion of our products to retailers nationwide. Also, due to the incredible success of our new health care line, we will be able to add exciting new products to this division in the near future.

Our Story
O
nce upon a time, a small rag doll was created and hand made with loving affection by a mother for her child to caress during worship at church; it was a "family thing." This was the inspiration for Eppie® The Pew Baby and brought about the creation of Things of Joy, Inc. It became our desire to form a silent partnership with those who care about a child’s growth and happiness. Creating a doll that provides a sense of safety and security when held in church, at play, or when alone and away from the family environment was another of our initial goals.

There is a growing interest throughout America today in restoring family values. Even though there is a great deal of speculation about the "reasons" for doing this, the important thing is that our society is focusing on getting it done. From the beginning, my desire has been to encourage this movement through the simple belief that children are born with a sweet innocence that families must nurture into strong moral fiber in order for them to "increase in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and man."

It all started in the early ‘60s when a very dear college friend encouraged me to make my first doll. This soft sculptured doll quickly became my favorite gift for children and baby showers. As time passed, another friend inspired the name "The Pew Baby." Months later I received a call from the owner of a specialty shop in San Antonio, Texas, who had seen "The Pew Baby" and wanted to feature it in her shop. This was my first wholesale account, and the beginning of a company, which would soon become known as "Things of Joy."

In 1993 a massive stroke disabled my mother and inspired our current line of health care products that have truly become "things of joy" for so many with special needs. These innovative products are successful examples of our ability to design and deliver useful new ideas to a growing market. They are durable, effective, and economical, with extraordinary convenience, while maintaining the quality our customers have come to expect.

1996 was a landmark year for Things of Joy. Major growth was experienced in the following areas:

At Things of Joy, Inc., the future is very bright. We have worked hard to continue our momentum, and are excited about the opportunity to expand nationwide as our dynamic growth continues. Of course, producing and selling high quality products can only go so far. Great service must do the rest. At Things of Joy, Inc. we consider customer service an opportunity to do just that, "serve." With this in mind, I invite you to shop our increasing line of products and thank you for your interest. As always, we consider serving you to be one of life’s truly great "Things of Joy."
